Bereavement Support Group to meet at VNA Northwest office, 607 Bantam Rd., Unit F, 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, at 1:00 PM. Call Elizabeth Tanner-Horn, Social Worker, or Joanne White, Hospice Director, for more information.
 
LIVE WELL Workshops for Individuals with Chronic Conditions or Their Caregivers

Limited number of participants. Please call us to ask questions about the program: (860) 567-6000 or 860-364-4424. The program covers a new topic each week and provides opportunities for interaction and group problem solving. Topics include: Managing Difficult Emotions, Better Breathing, Communication, Fitness and Exercise, Nutrition, and Working with your Health Care Professional.

2017 Fall Risk Assessment Clinics (Open to the Public at no charge -- funded by a grant from the Connecticut Collaboration for Fall Prevention )

During this program a therapist will describe various risk factors that can lead to a fall and will explain and demonstrate some safety measuers and tools that individuals can use to protect themselves from accident or injury. Following the presentation there will be an opportunity for participants to receive personal reviews of their medications and blood pressure checks by a nurse, as well as the opportunity for individual fall risk assessments by a therapist.

2017 Bend & Stretch and Tai Chi Clinics      

Bend and Stretch - 6 weeks -* unless otherwise noted (1 hour per week)

Bethlehem - Memorial Hall Fridays Sept. 15th - Nov. 10th. 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.*This is a 9 week program.

Watch for future offerings.

Tai Chi - 12 weeks (two 1 hour sessions per week)

A 12 week commitment is required. Space limited to 10 participants

Designed based on Tai Chi principle classes will include warm ups, Tai Chi movements and discussion. Tai Chi uses gentle motion to streghten the body, relax the mind and reduce the risk of falls.

Flu Clinics

Shots will also be administered at the agency office on Thursdays, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. starting.

No reservations are necessary.

Cost without insurance: $35. Pneumonia shots: $80. Bring insurance cards if you have Medicare Part B, Aetna, Anthem, or ConnectiCare. Please wear short sleeves.
